Gill is the author of two national bestsellers. There’s Lead In Your Lipstick: Toxins in Everyday Bodycare and How to Avoid Them was called “essential reading” by Dr. David Suzuki and a “genius of a book” by Dr. Rick Smith of Environmental Defense. It has been translated into several languages and sold around the world.
Her 2008 bestseller Green For Life spawned a popular column of the same name in Chatelaine magazine.
Her memoir, Naked Imperfection—an exploration of how a cancer diagnosis affects our desire for control—was released by Penguin in Spring 2014.
In nearly two decades as a television broadcaster, Gill has been host of several programs including CBC TV’s The Gill Deacon Show and the Gemini award-winning Daily Planet with Jay Ingram on Discovery Channel. In the US, she hosted Discoveries This Week on Discovery Science Channel. Gill was also a weekly arts correspondent for CBC News Morning. She was awarded a gold medal at the prestigious New York Festivals for her television writing.
Gill sits on the board of the Writer’s Trust, a national organization supporting and promoting Canadian writers. She lives in Toronto with her husband Grant Gordon and their three sons.
